Julia Brander, Social Worker for the London Borough of Ealing. Julia relocated to the UK from South Africa in January 2004 to work as a Social Worker.

"My name is Julia and I was recruited to the UK by amicus recruit whose philosophy is not only ongoing professional development but they also provide assistance, support and supervision during one's placement.

Since I applied for my job as a social worker, I have received incessant encouragement and support from the agency.

My fear of resigning from my previous job of 20 years, and having to work in a different country were allayed by the Agency's support through E-mails and telephonic discussions.

When I arrived in the UK, I was met and welcomed by the Agency's recruitment manager who arranged for my temporary stay for a week at a bed and breakfast while helping me look for permanent accommodation and opening a bank account .

I am very, very grateful for amicus recruit, which, through its continued support, enabled me to have my two small children join me in the UK.

I feel that this is the greatest gift which they have given me. I have never been so happy and fulfilled.

I would like to pass my sincere gratitude to Mark Brunger, who had been so understanding, supportive, kind and patient and having made things possible to make me as happy as I am, throughout my placement.
